In memoriam of Lawrence J. Tracy
Last week, we lost a dear friend, LAURENCE J. TRACY, husband, father, strong community member, valued colleague, and long-time supporter of the Virginia Judges and Lawyers Assistance Program (VJLAP).
Mr. Tracy worked with VJLAP through all of its many names and phases. He served on the Substance Abuse Committee at the Virginia Bar Association from 1994-2002; received the Lawyers Helping Lawyers’ James R. Treese Award for outstanding contributions the legal community relating to addiction in 2002; and was on the Lawyers Helping Lawyers Board of Directors from 2014-2016. He continued helping members of the legal profession struggling with addiction and mental health concerns throughout his life.
After 55 years of marriage, almost 30-years of law practice, and 47 years of sobriety, Mr. Tracy leaves us with his strong faith and warm memories.

Services will be held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 11900 Lawyers Road, Reston, VA 20191, with a viewing on Thursday, February 27th from 5-8 p.m., and on Friday, February 28th, a 9:30 a.m. viewing and 10:30 Mass.
