This is the third post in the VJLAP series, “Stories From Our Colleagues.”  In this story, a judge providing her perspective on Virginia’s response to mental health and substance use concerns in the legal profession to support recognizing signs, seeking treatment, and reducing stigma. Mental health and substance use concerns are not “us versus them,” it is for all of us, together.

Once the statistics revealed our profession at risk, action was needed systemically and individually. She saw this and has done and is doing what she can to support prevention, support, and intervention to reduce stigma and protect the lawyer, profession, and clients.
